The Nasty Party Returns

We knew what they were like, we knew that the mask would fall away before election day, but did we imagine that they would use shiny Dave? So here is their first nasty poster. It will be one of many.

...and no, I did not make up the message, they really are promising to cut benefits.

  1. A chap works for £x per week doing 35 hours and would earn £x-£1.96 if he worked 16 hours and received a tax credit for not working more than 16 hours.
Benefits 'pay' more than the minimum wage, especially for a mother with children. Who else can afford a two, three or four bedroom house and have 'spare' money?
It's not nasty to say that those who *refuse* to work should not be given *my* tax, it's just good sense.
And this blog's supposed to be about Tory lies, not about Tory promises! And as a Liberal Democrat, I don't see how this policy is anything but liberal -- it frees me from the binds of paying tax for something that is not necessary. I'd rather not get a tax break and spend that money on reducing class sizes -- but it shouldn't be spent on the idle.
